Child Safety and Care Policy
Every child’s care and safety is our responsibility. Above all, we want your child to be happy and safe. Our English families are caring and experienced hosts. They welcome and look after our students the same way they look after their own. With excellent 24 hours/day communication, you will never be left worried about your child.
Bath in English Guardian
A member of Bath in English staff is allocated to each child that we welcome. Guardians are an essential part of the high quality service that we provide. They are the parents’ sole point of contact at all times (24 hours a day, 7 days a week). As designated Bath in English guardians, they make sure that the child is settling in well with the family and is happy with every arrangement that we have made. This person is also responsible for any emergencies, in case the child needs medical care or any other assistance outside of his or her educational needs.
If you child has any allergies or food intolerances, please make us aware of this when booking his/hercourse. We will then find the most suitable family for them. If informed in advance, our families will happily cater for special needs, allergies and intolerances.
The teachers we choose for your children are all thoroughly inspected by Bath in English. We either have experience in working with them or we have recruited them following a rigorous interviewing process. We always make sure to get to know them from a personal point of view as well as professionally.
We provide a programme of dynamic and interesting activities to accompany every study schedule. Educational and cultural activities outside of your child’s lessons are an important part of their learning. We suggest trips to Stonehenge, Salisbury and London during every stay.
You can opt in or out of any of the activities or replace them with appropriate alternatives.
We organise dedicated drivers and knowledgable local guides for our trips. They accompany all our students and are responsible for them.
All Bath in English lessons are one-to-one. Your teacher visits your English host family’s home. Our Young Learners programmes are tailored towards each young person’s pace and zest for learning. All subjects are individually chosen to match your child’s interests. We aim to help broaden their learning horizons by introducing new but topical and engaging subjects. Our teachers strive for a carefully balanced curriculum including speaking and listening, reading and writing and essential grammar. Your child’s learning needs are the focus of their individual study programme.
