Do you want to gain confidence in speaking and understanding English? This course is designed for your everyday needs in English. Perhaps you want to improve your understanding, reading or writing, or maybe speaking practice is what you really wish to focus on. We adapt our courses to meet your requirements. We will help you to experience the English language and we will surround you with it in a variety of ways. This can include:
- Lessons based on everyday life situations (go to the cinema, ask for directions, watch TV programmes, etc.)
- After-class activities and practical English lessons (get timetable and prices information about a sporting event or a concert, buy groceries, order from a restaurant menu, etc.)
- Speaking practice with friends of your host family and friends of Bath in English
- Watch a TV programme, documentary or film in English with English subtitles and discuss it afterwards
- Read a book and discuss it with your teacher and/or English host family afterwards
You can choose an intensive programme with 30 one-to-one lessons per week or a more relaxed option with 15 one-to-one lessons per week. We provide numerous opportunities for speaking and listening with all of our study programmes. You may wish to focus on one or all of these areas of study: speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar or vocabulary. We tailor each lesson to your specific needs.

Start the day with a healthy breakfast!
Your first one-to-one lesson. Your teacher will assess your written and spoken English. He/she will decide on the best level to start from.
Small talk in English really helps to improve your communication skills!
With a one-to-one lesson, you are the sole focus for your experienced English teacher. All of your learning needs will be addressed.
A healthy lunch with your teacher or your host family before you start exploring Bath for the first time!
A brief tour of Bath with one of our staff or teachers will give you a sense of the city and its historical significance. It is a beautiful place to be!
Enjoy some relaxing time and make sure you do your homework for the following day!
At dinner time, enjoy a stimulating conversation in English with your host family. They will want to find out more about you. Make sure you ask them questions too!

Enjoy individual attention and support during a grammar or vocabulary lesson.

Your teacher will prepare some interesting follow-up activities to practise your newly learnt grammar or vocabulary.
Punting is so much fun but hard work too! You need a good healthy meal before you set off!
Pure fun! Punting is a very traditional English activity. In the times before cars and buses, this is how English people travelled between towns and villages. Join us for a punting trip along the river Avon. It will be fun, we promise!
Your teacher will suggest some wonderful books to read in English. Wind down with a cup of tea and immerse yourself in English storytelling!
Tell your host family about your busy day with your teacher and about your punting experience!
Start the day with a nutritious meal!
Just you and your teacher who will visit you at your English home. You will soon notice how your English starts to improve dramatically.
Stop for a refreshing cup of tea or coffee with your Bath guide or teacher, in one of Bath’s beautiful central cafes. Then enjoy an invigorating spa session.
Bath’s modern Thermae Spa offers a fantastic variety of mineral water pools and treatment rooms. Enjoy the view from the rooftop open air pool. Relax soaking in Britain's only mineral spring waters.
Enjoy lunch at the trendy Thermae Spa restaurant.
Your teacher will prepare some interesting follow-up activities to practise your newly learnt vocabulary.
Do your homework and practise your newly learn writing techniques, but don’t forget to relax too!
Immerse yourself in your English host family’s culture and language.
You need a healthy meal in the morning before a busy day of sightseeing and studying!
See one of England’s most ancient monuments and certainly one of the most visited sights in the Southwest.
England’s Southwest region is renowned for its rural beauties. Stop by and visit a charming, traditional English village.
Salisbury’s Cathedral is well known for its stunning architecture. No visit to the Southwest is complete without seeing this beautiful monument!
A picnic or café lunch is due after a busy day of sightseeing and before another lesson.
Your lesson will be focused on your day of sightseeing with the emphasis on speaking and practising new vocabulary.

Join us for some cycling or walking along the beautiful canal running through Bath. Did you know that physical activity and walks in the nature improve your studying abilities?
English people cherish their pub culture. Get a sense for it with a visit to a charming traditional English country pub.
Your speaking will soon improve dramatically through dinner conversations with your English host family.
Every Saturday, we organise a pancake breakfast get together. Come and meet fellow pancake lovers!
After the tour, relax with a picnic in Victoria park. It has great views overlooking one of the most significant buildings in Bath – The Royal Crescent.
Bath has a variety of shops; both boutique and high-street brands.
Put your feet up after a busy day walking in the city.
After a long day exploring Bath, enjoy a home-cooked tasty meal and a friendly conversation with your English hosts. If the weather is nice, you may even be outdoors for a BBQ.

Every Sunday we organise a home-cooked pizza evening. Come and enjoy a friendly conversation with other students and host families and try our delicious pizzas!

We organise everything; from the transport arrangements to the lunch breaks and entrance fees. You just tell us what you would like to see the most and we will take you there!
Bath is a charming city with stunning architecture and many interesting sights to enjoy. One of our trusted local guides will show you around. You will also visit the Roman Baths. With their stunning architecture, they will tell you about centuries of Roman history in Britain. They are the only thermal baths in the UK. People have been visited and enjoyed them and their therapeutic qualities for hundreds of years.
